Subject: Walpole Swim Team - Kohl's Cares

Hello Team,

There is an exciting event going on sponsored by Kohl’s Cares – Committed to Kids’ Health and Education that I’d like you all to get involved in.

We're donating $500,000 to 20 schools each for a total of $10 million! Your school could WIN. Vote now!

The advertisement above is a link to Kohl’s Facebook page where you may login and vote for your school.  The 20 schools with the most votes will each win $500,000!  That could go a long way to a new pool facility at the high school or anything else for that matter.  Consider this however, there are 4 elementary, 2 middle, 1 high, & 1 catholic schools in Walpole.  If the votes generated by those of you receiving this message go to a single school the odds are better than splitting those votes across the 8 schools.  I suggest that everyone coordinate their votes on the high school (most of your kids will end up there if not enrolled already) in a focused effort to put Walpole in that top 20.

You may vote up to 20 times per Facebook account.  In addition to simply voting you can submit ideas for your school as to how to spend the money, share your school on Facebook, tweet, and reach out – each activity counts as a vote to your school.  I’ve shared my own idea below, feel free to copy and paste it.

Now I know many of you don’t have Facebook accounts, but I’ll bet your kids, nieces, nephews, & friends do – and if you don’t you may set one up quickly just for this event and then close it after you’ve used up your votes. (Maybe you’ll even keep it to mess with your kids).

My idea:

Walpole High School has had an excellent girl’s swim team for more than 20 years; however school has no pool facility of its own.  The team must rent and travel to another high school several towns away.

I would love to see an indoor pool built at the high school for use by the team.  The facility could also be used by the town's summer & winter age group teams, for teaching Red Cross swimming and water safety and so many other programs.

So go team!  Go Kohl’s!

Cheryl
