SOMETHING
TO THINK ABOUT
FOR
PARENTS OF SWIMMERS IN THE B REGIONAL MEET
The following thoughts are
intended to make your day more enjoyable and less confusing.
There is no order of importance
because it is all important.
Not everyone can win. Everyone receives recognition.
Every heat in an event is
official, and the winners are known only after each heat has been logged and
computed. Please don't tell your child
s/he won before the official results are posted. What may appear as a winning performance to
you (all performances are winning) may not bring home the place finishes
Make sure your child(ren) stay around your area. When it is time for their event it will go
off without them if they are not readily accessible. There are no make - up heats.
Have your children wear
foot covering at all times.
There can be no
interference at the official tables. If
you think something is terribly wrong, SEE YOUR COACH. Swimmers or parents of swimmers who try to
'fix' a mistake take the risk of having the swimmer DISQUALIFIED.
If you think you will be
using the facilities, stuff some extra toilet paper in your purse or pack. Supplies run low even in the best of
circumstances.
Be polite and respectful
of the other towns and swimmers. The
children often learn more about sportsmanship than swimming at these events.
Clean up the area you have
occupied after the event is over.
