The Bob Travers Memorial Scholarship has been made possible through the generous contributions of friends, family, coworkers, and members of the swim team. Coach Cavanaugh and the Walpole Swim Team held a fundraiser on Saturday, July 28, 2007. This fundraiser benefited the Bob Travers Scholarship Fund. Bob Travers, who passed away in the spring of 2006, was a big supporter of the swim team, both of his children swam on the team and worked at the town pool. The kids swam laps to raise money for this high school scholarship fund. Coach Cavanaugh thanks the town for continuing to help support this fund and making it a perpetual scholarship just as the Vlahos, Parlon, & Keeman scholarship are. We accomplished this by raising in excess of $7,000.00. To make a donation, or for questions about the scholarship, contact the Walpole Scholarship Foundation, 3 West Street in Walpole. Checks can be made out to the Bob Travers Scholarship Fund.
